Dear entire Stankard clan and extended family,

Please accept my sincere condolence on the sudden loss my of my old friend, Johnny.

Quite a kid I never had a chance to spend more time with over the years. Won't forget the shiny new drum set he received on Christmas many moons ago. A lot of fun and a Lincoln staple. He will be truly missed by all.

Take care in the coming days, weeks and months. Johnny's watching. Make him proud.

Sincerely,

Patrick Malloy

John (Johnny) was my best friend. We met when we were about 8 or 9 years old. I was playing croquet alone in my yard on a warm Summer day when Johnny came walking around the bend. He asked if I would like some company. That was the start of our friendship. As kids, Johnny and I spent a lot of time together along with our other buddies in the neighborhood. We grew up together. We shared adventures, life's experiences, and life's ups and downs. Johnny was a fiercely loyal friend. I remember the first time I met his cousin Billy. Johnny idolized Billy. I was happily surprised when Johnny introduced me as his best friend. After I got married Johnny always remembered to call and wish us Happy Birthday, Merry Christmas, Happy Thanksgiving, Happy Anniversary, Happy July 4th, and even Happy Chinese New Year! The last time my wife and I saw Johnny he came to say goodbye just before we moved to Florida. It was a difficult and profound farewell! He hugged us both, shook with tears, and repeatedly told us he loved us. We were so grateful for his love and his generous emotion. I can hardly express the loss I feel when I think of his passing. But, I bring him with me in my heart wherever I go and I dance to celebrate him every day. Johnny buddy...get ready...we are heading off together soon for a big trip to the Himalayas. I'm packing you up with me and bringing you for another adventure best buddy. Thanks for always being there for me! I love you kid.
