JUNE PRISCOLI Obituary

Delli Priscoli, June M. "We don't have to feel badly that one of us departs – we have to remember what each of us has given." June Delli Priscoli, July 2013. June Delli Priscoli was a sparkler! Her smile would light up the room and make your heart sing. An artist by passion and degree, she graduated from the Museum of Fine Arts School in Boston. Seeking the deeper reaches of the soul was at the core of June's paintings and life. This former beauty queen had a graceful spirit that continues to live on through her many accomplished works of art. Her specialty was portraits through which she could see "into her subjects' soul – and who they truly are." With an artist eye, she always wanted the viewer to see something deeper, to "stir up emotions and get them thinking." One of her most important commissioned oil portraits hangs at the Franciscan Hospital for Children in Boston. June's exceptional talent was not limited to one medium. She created stage sets as well as designed and sewed costumes for theater productions, masterminded a series of beautiful gardens, and perfected her many culinary talents. She also used her creative spirit to open and operate Riverview, a successful bed and breakfast on Cape Cod for many years into retirement. She was the matriarch in an Italian family – a lifelong homemaker – where many beyond family were blessed abundantly by her open door hospitality. Following her mantra "when you have a gift you have to explore all the possibilities!" she will be remembered by family and friends as a woman with an indefatigable will to live no matter the physical limitation…. a free spirit in pursuit of pure creativity not beholding to any norms of external conformity. She was loved and cherished by everyone who truly knew her. June spent her eighties at The Boston Home in Dorchester dealing with a lifelong battle with MS where she passed peacefully on Wednesday, Oct 15th at 87. June was the proud mother of three grown children who now survive her: Dr. Jerome Delli Priscoli (Washington, D.C.), Jane Mara Delli Priscoli and her late husband Larry Ray Knapp (Ronan, MT) and Jon Delli Priscoli and his wife Jennifer (Sudbury and Carver, MA) and five grandchildren Stephen, Matthew, Jon Jr., Augustus, and Christian Delli Priscoli. June will be interred with her late husband, Joseph Delli Priscoli (deceased 1985) in Newton Cemetery. Visiting hours in the Magni F.H., 365 Watertown St, Rt. 16, NEWTON, Tues, Oct. 21, from 4-7pm and again Wed. morning, Oct. 22, at 9AM before proceeding to St. Bernard Church, 1523 Washington St, West Newton for a 10AM Funeral Mass. Burial to follow in Newton Cemetery. Memorial donations in June's name may be made to the Boston Home, Residents' Art Program, 2049 Dorchester Ave, Boston, MA 02124. Andrew J. With best regards to the Delli Priscoli family from my family during this difficult time. I never met June, however from the wonderful remarks about her life, she is someone where the memory of her should continue to bring great joy for those who were lucky enough to have known and spent time with her.

I took care of June for five years seven days a week in her home in Marlborough, We had the most fun in her pool listening to music and singing at the top of our lungs, not sure the neighbors all liked it but no one ever complained ,, We cooked together and she showed my youngest daughter Alexandria how to draw , along with sharing her life with my daughter Julia also, my family became her Family, we all became one family not only with June, but with Jerry Mara and Jon along with their families too,we shared many happy times and some not so good ones too, but that is what made us a Family , June once told me she got her first kiss at Fenway Park, We laughed and her smile lit up the room. we shared so many good times together and lots of laughs , I will truly misss you June , you took a part of my heart with you and your families too, but We can all share in the good times we had.. , we can take you with us and keep your memories strong and alive, I can still hear your voice from acros the room and you call out to us in your special way yoouuuu- whoooooo are you there Sharon?? Yes June I'm here , what do you need ? nothing just wanted to know what your wre doing and what else we can do togeher later to cause some kind of trouble from anyone who would catch us doing some thng to cause trouble, Fly with the Angels now June , R I P all of our love Sharon
