Kimberly Jones Obituary

JONES, Kimberly Salle Age 38 of Boston died suddenly on Sunday March 1, 2009 as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Farmington, CT. She was born in Buffalo, NY and was the beloved daughter of George (Meri Beth) Jones of Hamburg, NY and Jan (Leonard) Berschwinger of Clifton Park, NY. She was a Vice President of State Street Global Advisors and the Head of Relationship Management Reporting for US Clients in Boston, having worked there since 2000. In addition to her parents, Kim is the devoted sister of Mrs. Melody (Paul) Goetz, Jr. of Clifton Park, NY, George A. Jones III of Clifton Park and Meredith Jones of Hamburg, NY; loving aunt of Allison M. and Paul L. Goetz III both of Clifton Park; granddaughter of Arnold L. Crounse of Guilderland Ctr., NY and the late Hazel Crounse and George and Anna Jones. Kim had an unbelievable zest for life and was always planning the next social gathering, be it a Sox game, a concert or celebratory dinner with friends. Music was a big passion - she provided a sound track for every office party, vacation or major event in her friends' lives. Her quick wit and beautiful smile will always be remembered. Above all, the friends she made and relationships she developed made Boston her home. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 9:15 from the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Rt. 9 in CLIFTON PARK thence to St. Edward the Confessor Church in Clifton Park where at 10:00 AM the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be from 4-8 PM Friday in the funeral home. Spring interment will be in Jonesville Cemetery, Jonesville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kimberly S. Jones Scholarship Fund in care of the funeral home. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 518-371-5454.

Kim and I went to City Honors together back in the 80's, and cause our last names are the same we always wound up sitting next to each other talking and she was one of the sweetest, most down to earth people I ever had the pleasure to meet. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family and loved ones.

Kim and I were from opposite ends of the world in high school but I'll NEVER forget some of the fascinating conversations we had one on one. She always had a way of making me smile and although it's been over 20 years since our last conversation, I can hear her voice and see her smile like it was yesterday. My deepest sympathy to her family.....

I have been in touch w/a lot of fellow City Honors students via Facebook recently, and I tried to look up Kimberly Jones recently. It hit me like a ton of bricks when another student told me Kim Jones recently passed. the thing I remember most about Kim is the smile she had on her face everytime I saw her. My deepest sympathy to the Jones family.......

My fondest memories are of singing with Kim as she played at the piano-Duke Ellington's "Satin Doll" and other jazz standards. She was a whiz racing me to solve the daily news cryptoquips! My younger brother Sean reminded me of how kind she always was to him. Kim had a great sense of humor and always brought a smile to my face. My deepest heartfelt regrets for her loss.

I first met in Kim in 6th grade at City Honors. Though I have not been in touch with her, reading through the comments in this guest book, it sounds like she remained the smart, fun, and kind person she was in middle and high school. My heart goes out to her entire family, especially Melody and George. I am so so sorry for this terrible loss.

Our most heartfelt sympathy for the tragic loss of your daughter. I happened to have read her obituary in the March 11 Buffalo News and was so stunned to learn that she was your daughter. I remembered seeing you in King Concert Hall many years ago and recalling that at that time your Melody was attending Fredonia, thereby allowing me to make the connection with your family.
George, we are both so deeply saddened by your loss, beyond what words can ever express.
Lovingly, Lucy and Louis Richardson, Fredonia, NY

My condolences for Kimberley Jones and her family. My name is Alex Mavradis. I had known Kimberley for a few years in passing at her favorite hangout and got to know her for her thoughtfulness .. She was always confident, had a zest for life and had an even keel. She will be missed in Boston. I know I will miss her. As always in the custom of the Greek Orthodox tradition we say, "May Her Life Be Eternal" May the life of Kimberley Jones be Eternal.

Mel and family,
When Terry died a friend of young Terry's shared the following poem with us and I carry it with me always. I am so incredibly sorry for your loss and I hope this poem can bring you some comfort. Love you,
Aunt Bonnie

All Is Well
Death is nothing at all,
I have only slipped away into the next door room,
I am I and you are you...
Whatever we were to each other, that we are still.
Call me by my old familiar name,
speak to me in the usual way which you always used.
Put no difference into your tone,
wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrows.
Laugh as we always laughed
at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word that it always was.
Let it be spoken without effect, without the ghost of a shadow on it.
Life means all it ever meant, it is the same as it ever was,
there is absolutely unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind, because I am out of sight?
I am but waiting for you, for in the interval.
Somewhere very near just around the corner...
All Is Well...

I will always remember my friend Kim as one of the most amazing, brilliant and beautiful people I have ever had the privilege of knowing. We shared so many memories together at Fredonia and on LI as well and those times will be with me in my heart forever. My most precious moment with Kim was on a chair lift skiing one night when we seemed to be on a ride through the middle of a perfect picture....quiet, peaceful and surreal....I am so lucky to have known Kim and will never forget what a wonderful friend she will always be to me.
All my thought and prayers,
