Uncle Oscar:
I am so sorry to hear of Aunt Laura. Growing up I always experienced her as kind, loving and accepting.I am sad not to be with you all in Rumford today.

To Oscar and all of her decendents:
I guess I am one of the oldest living people who has been priviledged to have known Laura since January 27, 1945, the day I married Arline Fournier in Rumford. Maine. I met you, Oscar, later when you returned from the service in Italy. The last time I saw you both was at your home in The Villages, Florida when Bill, Jr. and I visited you folks. You had a wonderful, long, marriage that everyone would long to have. I vividly remember the good times we had with you two when Arline and I lived in Rumford. Since I will be 93 years old on July 9th, son, Bill, Jr. and twin grandsons, Marc and Michael felt I should be near them, thus I ended up here in Columbia, Maryland. Upon my death, my ashes will be joined with Arline's in our niche at Arlington National Cemetary in Washington, D.C. I would love to hear from anyone and can be reached at 6336 Cedar Lane, Columbia, MD 21044, or wtapplegate167@ yahoo.com, or 410-531-1851.

Dear Oscar & Family,
My deepest sympathy to you in the loss of your loving wife, mother and grandmother. I had the wonderful opportunity to know Laura through my friendship with Oscar as members of The Villages String Orchestra. I will always remember Laura's beautiful smile as she on occasion would sit and listen to Oscar and me play our violin and piano duets in The Villages Regional Hospital lobby. A life well-lived is one of God's greatest gifts. May His perpetual light shine upon Laura and grant her eternal rest.

What a joy and privilege it has been to come to know dear, sweet Laura over the last 10 years. I will miss listening to her tell stories from her long, rich life, with all her humorous perspectives and observations and watching her unique facial expressions as she "spun the yarn". I will miss her tender kiss and kissing her soft, gentle face. I will miss her constant support and sympathy ("Poor Michael") although I know it was undeserved but I still loved it. She was my constant fan. I am so happy that you are finally free from the suffering of that failing body. And most of all I am ever so grateful for your greatest gift to me, the perfect incarnation of your own bright spirit, your daughter Jane. Rest in peace my dear Mummy and friend.

My grandmother brought me so much joy and wisdom. I will miss her bright smile that could warm up the room. She will be missed but never forgotten.
