HUGHES, Mary (McDonough) Of Marshfield, formerly of Braintree and Dorchester, passed away surrounded by her loving family on December 30, 2021. Mary, born and raised in Carraroe, Ireland, lived in Dorchester where she raised her family prior to moving to Braintree and more recently settling in Marshfield. Daughter of the late Bartley and Bridget McDonough; beloved wife of the late John Hughes. Loving mother of Michael Hughes and his partner, Lauren, of Lynn and Mary Beresford and her husband, Dean, of Marshfield. Cherished Nana to Nicole, Aidan, Michael and Matthew. Sister of Pete McDonough and his late wife, Sally, of Braintree, William McDonough and his wife, Ellen, of Galway, Ireland, and the late John and Michael McDonough of Carraroe, Ireland. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Mary will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved her. Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family during the Visiting Hours on Tuesday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home, SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte. 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 8:45 AM on Wednesday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Christine's Church, Marshfield at 10 AM.
