Just saw this today. My heart is broken.
I had searched for Matthew on the social media for many many years and could not find him.
I met Matthew on Cape Cod in 1979. We had a wonderful summer romance with so many laughs, I will never forget... because so few people ever made me laugh that hard!
We both went off to college (he to University of Massachusetts and me, to Michigan State University). We stayed in touch for several years and life happened.
I have so many wonderful letters from him and all were wise beyond his years. I will always remember his love & respect for his mother and family!

Hard to believe we lost you a year ago. Miss our texts, phone calls and dinners when you were in town. Especially your "be nice to your mother" comments on a weekly basis.

Dear Matty,
You were such a fun loving & generous soul. Will always remember meeting you at karaoke on the Cape singing 'Summer Winds' together, taking your recommendation to stay at El Velero in Costa Rica and our last time together out on the town in Quincy & Boston with Joe Dirico.

Matty had such a fun loving and generous heart. I will always remember meeting him singing 'Summer Winds' with him at Karoake in Dennis, then taking his recommendations to go to stay at the El Velero in Costa Rica and then these photos from our last time together- a super night on the town in Quincy & Boston. He will be missed. You're having an even more fun time with the Lord now. Rest easy. Thank you for the wonderful memories. Love, Cali xx

I knew Matt when we were both children and teenagers, as he was the "little brother" in the family while we all lived in Brookline. My memory of him is his big, bright smile with a glint in his eyes. My deepest sympathies to Matt's loving sister, brother, and their children. I hear that he had a very special bond with his niece and nephews. He will always be remembered with fondness.

Matt and i had become great friends in a short time Matt was a great friend and a wonderful man. He always made people feel special and part of his family. So so Sorry to receive this sad news. Matty as I knew him was one of the most pleasant and kindest persons that I have ever met.
