I worked with Mike at Lincoln Laboratory in Group 33 from 1991 thru 1996 & he was a man with true integrity. I have the utmost respect, admiration and gratitude towards him, plus I liked him a lot! He had a fascinating collection of historical artifacts in his office but the one I remember is the bust of Thomas Jefferson of which he was most proud. I enjoyed going to his retirement luncheon & thought it refreshing that he intended to retire & not return to the Lab. Hopefully he enjoyed the retirement years fully. My sincerest sympathy for your loss of this dear man.

Sincere sympathy to you all at the loss of Michael. I went to Weymouth High and became editor of the Reflector which he founded. Could you let me know what year he graduated from Weymouth?

To Pat and to the children of Michael Edward Austin, I want to express my sympathies to you during this time of grieving for your dear husband and father. Although I don't personally know you, I share the Austin family name and even though there may be many relatives that separate us, I know in my heart that he was a part of my family. Dear Pat and children, My husband and I are grieved to hear of the passing of such a wonderful, scholar, and mentor as Dr. Mike. We will always remember his help and encouragement to our research and the friendliness of your whole family. What he did for the Austins of the world cannot be measured by words, for it was a true labor of love. God Bless you all.

Dear Pat & family, I'm really sorry to hear of the loss of Mike. Such a nice person, smart and respected by many during my days at Kwaj. I always felt good when he would say hello to me when he visited ALTAIR or only in passing on Kwaj. He definitely was a Kwaj Icon respected by many. With much sorrow, Shermie

Dear Pat - Words can only begin to express the sadness I feel for you and your family with this loss of Mike. He was such a remarkable man, who didn't shy away from any obstacles. I have fond memories of our time with you and your family in England - Mike the leader - all of you looking out for everyone. Mike's spirit will live on with you all for the rest of your lives.
