My condolences to Pam and to the Emerson family. I just found out about Mike's passing ,and I could'nt believe it. I worked for Mike for a few years .I remember him telling me that he was going to teach me everthing about underpinning and shorring. The first thing he said before we even started, with a grin on his face he asked,Oh ya I hope u like digging Paul, and boy did I dig and dig and dig for the next few years.Mike alway kept us busy,Mike was one of a kind in my book. The thing I most remember is when Mike invited my family to his new beautiful Duxbury home. It was a beautiful day,I remember Pam holding my daughter, she didnt want to let her go. Mike was talking about going lobstering and said I should go with him. Im telling u this story because not many bosses would invite there employee to their house.
Mike was a great guy to work for and I will miss him. He taught me alot, thank u Mike may u R.I.P. Paul Alessi and family.

The way you sized up the situation, grinned and made a joke to break the ice. The way you wore your wit and intelligence...no they can't take that away from me. Memories are many...listening to Robert "J" on Boston Public Radio in the car, walking from Winthrop to the north end with Kathleen on his shoulders after the blizzard of '78...the pushcart was probably the only restaurant open in the north end during the storm. You taught me not just how to eat lobster, but how to trap them and appreciate the best part - tamale. I have a fondness for Indian music, Paul Simon, the Beatles, and a great love for your family. My heartfelt thanks to you and Irene for selecting me to live with your family. My heart is heavy, but the memories burn brightly. Your legacy is your lovely family. I am privileged to know them. My love and sympathy to Kathleen, Annie, Irene, Pam, Elizabeth, Michael, and Michelle. You'll always be in my thoughts.

Sharing an office with Mike for three years was both a learning experience and incredibly entertaining. His knowledge was unquestioned and he will be missed.

My deepest sympathies to the Emerson family - Mike was my father's employer and good friend for decades. In construction, it was difficult for someone to stay gainfully employed but Mike always made sure my Dad was which helped our family immensely throughout the years. Mike even assisted my husband and I with advice when we were starting our own construction business five years ago. He was so kind and positive - and extremely intelligent. I know my father will miss him greatly.
May he rest in peace - and again, my deepest sympathies to Mike's family and friends.

I will truly miss my longtime employer, but more importantly I considered Mike a dear friend - one that always had a smile and a laugh - and always stayed in contact with me after my move to Florida. After speaking to Mike recently, I was looking forward to him visiting down here in sunny FLA and have a new fishing buddy. I am going to miss Mike greatly. He was the most accomplished and knowledgable person I had never known.
My thoughts and prayers are with Mike's family and close friends
Rest in peace my pal, see you on the other side.

Michael was a good friend, a gentleman and always full of hospitality. He came to life when faced with an engineering challenge or when given the opportunity to entertain at his home in Duxbury, particularly if grilling on the barbie was involved.
All the best to you Mike, as you go on the next part of your journey.
Our condolences to Pam and all the rest of Mike's family. We know you will miss him greatly.

Dear Pam,
I learned from Michael that Mike passed away.
Mike was a dear friend, and although we did not see each other in person frequently, I always enjoyed his company when he was here in SXM, and our ( sometimes long) chats on the phone.
Mike was a wonderfull person and a very bright and intelligent engineer. We will miss him.
Please accept our condolences on behalf of Celine, Ron, Tries and myself and all of us at ICE who had the pleasure to work with him.

My deepest and sincerest condolences to the Emerson family.
I knew Michael and had a great deal of respect for his ability and professional demeanor; as a contractor I was priviledged to work on several uniquely engineered projects that he had designed in Boston and Cambridge.
