Dear Brother Paul Feeney is being mourned and missed by many relatives in County Galway, Ireland. He visited Ireland several times while studying in England or while travelling to or from the Xaverian order's headquarters in Bruges, Belgium. He spent happy holidays with his many relatives around Oranmore and he corresponded regularly with his cousins and sent them scores of photographs taken during his visits. He loved Galway and Oranmore, the homeland of his maternal grandmother Nellie (Christened Eleanor) McDonagh. She was born in the family home in Creganna, between Oranmore and Clarinbridge, in 1873 and she emigrated to Boston at a young age. Five of her eight siblings also emigrated to Boston in the late 19th century. Three of them, including Nellie, never returned to Ireland. Brother Pau and I exchanged emails each Christmas and St Patrick's Day, and at other times, after his last visit to Ireland about 15 years ago. I visited Bro Paul in 2020, just before the Covid pandemic, and I enjoyed a lovely meal with him and his dear sister Marion and cousin Mary Keane. I send condolences from Oranmore to Mary Keane and to Bro Paul's other relatives, and to his confreres in the Xaverian order. May he Rest in Peace.

What a shock! My cousin Paul and I just had lunch together in Danvers and while his body may have been 92, his mind was as sharp as ever. We shared many family memories and talked of our shared religion. Paul has been my big brother for 76 years, my religious mentor and non-judgmental advocate. I will miss him greatly. My wife Sheila and I had so looked forward to our next visit with Paul in September. RIP

I was blessed to know Brother Paul Feeney for just a few short years, but his impact was lasting. He was a wise, caring, and humble servant leader whose gentle presence and warm smile made others feel at ease and truly welcome. Brother Paul offered encouragement freely and quietly embodied the Xaverian values in all he did. His deep faith, grateful spirit, and trust in God were evident in both word and action. He lived out his vocation with a generous spirit and in the service of love. May he rest in God´s eternal peace.

My profound sympathy to the Xaverians Brothers upon the passing of Brother Paul who truly manifested humility, zeal, compassion and spirituality. He personified the best attributes and the real sacrifices of religious life, but taught his students/alumni how to be better people and to support the Xaverian educational mission. Brother Paul was my freshman teacher at St. John's High School and my treasured friend for decades thereafter. Rest in peace and your legacy lives on.
