Prior to legislation that passed allowing independent practice, Phyllis was part of my Clincial Nurse Specialist Supervision group for the past few years only stopping inthe COVID years. Phyllis had more years of experience that all of us although we would have never known of all her administrative and educational contributions were it not for this obituary! A life well lived and an inspiration to me for longevity of career and dedicated patient care.

Dr. Phyllis Moore was a visionary for the path of the nursing profession. To have us gain so many experiences with the design of the undergraduate curriculum, set Simmons apart. I will always remember her words emphasizing that is was more important to learn how to communicate with our senior year of psychiatric community nursing. We could always learn the clinical skills after graduation with work experience. The rudimentary skills that we gained through this focus with some truly unique experiences of nursing students with immersive integration in the communities while also learning processes to build upon communication and collaboration in nursing, was truly priceless. May she rest in eternal peace as she impacted so many individuals through the years. It truly has been a journey that has come full circle for myself as one of her students after 39 years as a RN.My deepest condolences to her children and grandchildren.

I remember Doctor Moore from my student days at Simmons (College) University in the school of nursing. She was so easy to talk with, and made me feel that she was invested in my success in nursing. I am still a nurse after 44 years!
