Since I have know the Albert family since 1957, it is with a heavy heart to see Dick's passing. He was a good man, and in the end, that is how we all should be judged. Mary Ann, to you and the family, my deepest sympathy.

I did not personally know Dick Albert. But like so many others, I felt that he was a frequent visitor to our home. He is a weather icon in Boston, but he is also a supreme example of an authentic, gleeful human being. Because we were fortunate to have shared time with him on this planet, we are very sad but thankful for having had such a bright light in our lives. Judy Daley

My heartfelt sympathy to the Albert family....although your loss is great right now; I hope knowing that he touched so many hearts somehow brings you some peace. Never had a chance to meet him, only knew him "through the tv" - but my goodness, what a guy! His kindness transcended the airwaves! Praying for Dick, as well as you at this difficult time.

To the Albert Family,
Dickie was one-of-a-kind!!! They broke the mold when they made him . There will never be another Dickie he was so true and genuine and a pleasure to watch on TV. I grew up watching him (as I am now 46 years old).
My memories of watching ANY forecast in my house had to do with him. I will always remember how funny he was when he used to do his forecasts. Sometimes I think that is why I like weather as much as I do. He will be forever missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
my hope is that the kind words of everybody will help you and your family through this difficult time. We were all very lucky to have known him even if it was only through a 13 inch TV screen

My Deepest Condolences to the Albert Family. I grew up watching Dick's weather forecasts and loved all is little sayings and abbreviations. It kept it interesting. But mostly I loved when we had the Blizzard of '78 and he told us we would likely not have school (I was in the 8th grade then)~~ and we were out for a couple of weeks! May he rest in peace and may his memory be eternal.

My sincere condolences to Dick Albert's family and friends. I never met Dick, but I always watched him. But why Dick Albert vs the others? His genuine interest in the weather and his inherent respect for what the viewers wanted. And his unfailingly upbeat personality! When the weather was at its worst, Dick clearly couldn't wait to go on the air. He didn't just give us the information - Dick took the extra step of explaining the logic behind his forecasts. Like a good teacher would. As we could readily see, the camaraderie at WCVB was on another plain - I always felt Dick was at the hub of things.
May God bless Dick Albert and his family.
