RICHARD L. DUFFY

DUFFY, Richard L. Of Winchester, died unexpectedly at Lahey Clinic in Burlington on August 24, age 78. Husband of the late Shirley M. (Stowell) Duffy. Beloved father of Richard A. Duffy of Arlington, Jane Ann Hughes of Westford, and the late James Stowell Duffy. Cherished grandfather of Hilary J. Hughes and James T. Hughes. Also survived by his brother John J. Duffy, Jr., of Manchester, Conn., and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother George, and three sisters: Barbara E. and Ruth M. Duffy, and Marguerite L. Crawford. Born in Medford to John J. and Margaret E. (Steed) Duffy, he was a graduate of Malden Catholic High School, earned his BS from Tufts University and his MBA from Boston College. He joined Geartronics Industries in North Billerica in 1965, later becoming president, and was still active in this position at the time of his passing. Visiting hours Monday, August 27 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Lane Funeral Home, 760 Main St. (Rte. 38) WINCHESTER. Services at the funeral home Tuesday, August 28 at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Wildwood Cemetery in Winchester.
