SANDRA STONE Obituary

STONE, Sandra D. Of Naples, FL, died on September 2, 2024, surrounded by her loving children. Born on April 8, 1933 in Bridgeport, Conn, Sandy was the third child of Sam and Sadie Diengott. She was a consummate baker and a pillar of strength at Temple Shalom of Naples. She served as their Temple President, Sisterhood President and was heavily involved in many fundraising efforts there. She was a loyal, loving mother, and friend to all who had the privilege of being in her presence. From her curiosity about your life to her tendency to want to feed everyone she cared about, all left her feeling full. She was the glue that held her family together. She was preceded in death by her siblings Fred Diengott and Barbara Rubin, and her loving husbands Hugh Stone and John Woog. She leaves her children Stephen Stone and Nancy Conklin-Stone, Linda Stone Fish and Ron Fish, Joshua Stone, Beth and Gabi Feldman, Daniel Stone and Chai Suksinpaiboon. She was a doting grandmother to Jessica and Matt Stowe, Isaac Stone Fish, Alexandra and Sean Thies, Aarlo Stone Fish, Sophie Stone, Hughie and Jessica Stone Fish, Amelia and David Neiterman, Avery Stone Fish, Elijah Stone and Lucas Stone. She was also the loving great-grandmother to six great-grandchildren. She will stay in our hearts forever. Services at the Stanetsky Memorial Chapel, 475 Washington St., CANTON on Friday, September 6 at 1:00pm with livestream viewing available using the following link: www.tinyurl.com/SandraDStone Burial will follow at Lindwood Memorial Park, 497 North St., Randolph. We join Steven Fox in offering our condolences on Sandy´s death. The funeral service, viewed on line, was touching. What a WONDERFUL life she lived and what a WONDERFUL legacy she left! We still use the beautiful house gift she sent with Danny (Steven´s classmate) more than fifty years ago.

For me, what's most impressive about Sandy is that she approached life with gusto and boundless energy. She embraced motherhood at a young age and capably provided a supportive environment for all five offspring to thrive in, while instilling kindness and a sense of ethicality. She also served me my first fudge-filled cookie, which at the time (mid sixties) was a novelty and a new twist on the conventional chocolate chip. Of course the cookie variations she explored from there seemed to be endless! I hold fond memories of many pleasant hours spent in her home, amongst the immediate family, to whom I extend my heartfelt sympathies.
