Walter Unger Obituary

UNGER, Walter William "Bill" Of Peabody, formerly of Melrose, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Sept. 6, at his home. Bill was the beloved husband of Dorothy Jillett Unger for 62 years & the loving father of Gale Unger of Beverly & Carol (Unger) Segar & her husband David of Duxbury. He was a devoted & cherished grandfather to Stephanie & Amanda Segar. Born in Melrose in 1925,he attended Melrose High School. When the war broke out he joined the Army Air Corps & served as a navigator. Bill spent his entire professional career 39 years, with the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Bill will be laid to rest in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose during a private graveside service. Assisting the family with the arrangements is the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St., (Rte 62) DANVERS. Donations in Bill's memory may be made to the Merrimack Valley Hospice, 360 Merrimack St., Building #9, Lawrence, MA 01843 or to the Brooksby Village Benevolent Care Fund, 200 Brooksby Village Dr., Peabody, MA01960.
