I was a good friend of the late Paul Clancy, retired Captain, BFD. Years ago, Paul was the maritime Captain of Engine 47, one of the two Boston Fire Boats. Bill was one of the Firefighters who worked the same shift as Paul. I visited the fire boat often and became quite friendly with Bill. He was always ready to explain any piece of equipment I was interested in. I had many enjoyable conversations with him over BFD coffee - strong & black!! I saw him a few times in the following years and he always remembered me.
I was very saddened to read of his passing.
My deepest condolences to Bill's family and many friends.

My thoughts, and prayers are with you and your family during this very difficult transition. Your Dad was a man of true strength, kindness and integrity. He was always watching out for everyone in the neighborhood including my dog Leo. I will miss him sitting in his chair on his porch waving as people walked by. He was always so grateful and proud of his family. He would always tell me "I have a beautiful family." I hope you will take comfort in knowing how much he was loved and how much he loved you . With love, Maureen,Sierra, Dan and Leo
