Joe, you will be missed immensely, you were a man of dignity, respect, and was always there to lend a helping hand and give the most helpful advice; we miss you already. There will never be a man as helpful as you, especially for the Italian community. Our thoughts and prayers go out to your family, your wife Lidia, your children and your grandchildren. We were all very lucky to have such an influential man in our lives. You will always be in our hearts.

Ciao Jo! L'idea di non vederti più ci rende tristi e addolorati. Ma il ricordo delle tue venute a Pratola e della nostra vacanza a Boston nella tua famiglia ci fa sentire orgogliosi di aver condiviso tanti momenti con un uomo come te: leale, corretto, onesto, grande lavoratore, generoso ma soprattutto amante della famiglia. Ti abbiamo sempre sentito come un fratello maggiore e cosi ti abbiamo amato. Ci mancherai tanto! Ma il tuo sguardo lo ritroveremo negli occhi delle persone che hai amato e che ti hanno amato: da Lidia, ai tuoi figli ai tuoi nipoti. Il bene che hai fatto renderà perenne il tuo ricordo. I remember the first time I met cousin Joe in Italy and felt a great love for him and for his brother and sisters. That smile of his was like so many in the Mauro family.We pray that God will watch over his family, now that Joe will no longer be there for them.
