KENNEY William P. “Billy” (B.F.D. Ret.) age 85, of Roslindale formerly of West Roxbury and Jamaica Plain, August 29, 2012. Beloved husband of the late Mary M. (Hanifin). Loving father of Ann T. Murray and her husband Walter of Roslindale, James M. Kenney (V.B.F.D.) and his wife Diane of Virginia Beach, VA, Maureen A. Snebold and her husband Neal of Winchester, and the late John F. Kenney (Capt. B.F.D.) and his wife Kathleen of Dedham. Devoted grandfather of Brendan, Timothy, and Patrick Murray, Christopher, Michelle, and Jennifer Kenney, Ryan and Christine Kenney and Laura and David Snebold. Son of the late John F. and Mary (Ryan) Kenney. Brother of Helen Forrester, Anne Campbell, Edward Kenney (Deputy Chief B.F.D. Ret.), Virginia Padden, Leo Kenney, and the late Mary Carey, James, John, and Lawrence Kenney. Also survived by five great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the William J. Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre Street, WEST ROXBURY, Saturday, September 1 at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Funeral Mass in Holy Name Church at 10 o’clock. Visiting hours Friday 3:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. Relatives and friends invited. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery. Late U.S. Navy Veteran, WWII, Past Commander of the American Legion Post #76, member of the Boston Irish Social Club, Norwood Irish Social Club, Co. Roscommon Association of Boston, and the Boston Fire Fighter’s Union Local #718. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Billy’s memory to the Dana-Farber Cancer Research Institute, 44 Binney Street, Boston, MA 02215.
