Steven Gene Hamilton

Steve Hamilton passed away peacefully August 17 in Napa, California. Steve was born in Livingston, Montana August 26, 1939. He grew up in Bozeman, Montana and graduated from Montana State University in 1962 where he met his wife, Karen. He graduated from UCLA law school in 1966. Following law school he settled with his family in Palos Verdes Estates, California. He also called Seattle, WA; Fallbrook, CA; and Sonoma, CA home.

Steve enjoyed his law career serving as Vice President and General Counsel for two companies, The Garrett Corporation in Los Angeles and Alaska Airlines in Seattle. He served as a trustee on the Museum of History and Industry in Seattle. He loved his career as a lawyer but most of all loved his family, his wife Karen of 62 years, children Craig and Jennifer and their spouses, and his 6 grandchildren. In retirement, he enjoyed farming avocados and citrus on the family property in Fallbrook and traveling. In recent years Steve has enjoyed participating in Rock Steady Boxing at Napa Wellness Center.

Steve loved spending time with his friends and family in outdoor activities such as skiing, tennis, fishing, hiking, and scuba diving. He had a great talent as a musician and excelled as a piano player to his family and friends' enjoyment. He also entertained others playing banjo and ukelele. His family fondly describe that although he could be serious in his intellect and career, his quick wit and silly side brought laughter and fun to many occasions and gatherings with his loved ones.

Family are honoring his wishes not to have a service but for friends to hold his memories in their hearts. Memorials in his name can be made to the St. Labre Indian School, (where Steve and Karen and Karen's parents were married) PO box 216, Ashland, Montana 59003, or a favorite charity in his name.
