David Moyar Obituary

David Cunningham Moyar, 87, Bradenton, passed away June 7, 2016. David was born July 10, 1928 in Rouseville, PA to the late Samuel Wilson and Evelyn (Hunter) Moyar. He was a graduate of the Clarion & Edinboro Universities of PA, and Pennsylvania Banking School of Trust in PA. While living in Pennsylvania he worked as a trust banker. He moved to Deerfield Beach, FL where he served as the Vice President and Trust Officer for Southeast Bank in Boca Raton, retiring with 25 years of service. David was also a former member and Lt. Governor of the Kiwanis Club, member and past Worshipful Master of the Masonic Lodge, member of the Shrine, Chamber of Commerce and numerous church boards. In 2006 he moved to Bradenton. Locally he was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Bradenton, and attended Whitfield Estates Presbyterian Church in Sarasota. David was predeceased by his three siblings; Andrew Moyar, Sara Moyar Classen, and Martha Moyar Nyer. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Marty (Beatty) Moyar of Bradenton, son; David Cunningham (Robin) Moyar, Jr. of Raleigh, NC, two daughters; Virginia Moyar (David) Scherer of Bradenton, Leslie Ann Moyar of Raleigh, NC, two grandchildren; Samuel G. Scherer of Bradenton and Wilson H. Moyar of Raleigh, NC, and many extended family members and friends. A celebration of David's life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at the Shannon Funeral Home Westview Chapel, 5610 Manatee Avenue West, Bradenton with a reception to follow. The family request that in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to the Whitfield Estates Presbyterian Church or Alzheimer's Association in his memory.
