From the time I was a kid until just last year I thought Daddy Dave's middle name was "Leroy". He was always playing tricks like that, like telling me the pinky ring he wore was a secret decoder ring. Daddy Dave was the kind of guy you couldn't wait until he had something to say because you knew it would either be funny, thoughtful or a message filled with quiet wisdom. He made my world a special place and I feel as if I'm a better person having him as such an important influence. The one thing that will always stand out in my mind when I think of him is how much he loved his wife. Theirs is the kind of love that warms the heart and makes you believe that there is a happily ever after. And I know it's this love they shared that will help give strength to the family and friends who have been saddened by this great loss.
