Frank Marra Obituary

Frank Marra
It is with great sadness that Frank Marra, at the age of 92, passed away on February 11, 2018 at 1PM. A true Italian born in Rome, Italy came to New York as a teen and resided in Long Island, NY. He joined the US Navy during WWII and continued his tour in the Navy Reserves. Later his career was in the field of Radiology and he was one of the only a few, to hold an International license which made him so proud. Upon retiring to sunny Bradenton, Florida in 1989, Frank took up the outside corner of the courthouse for 25 years, serving the best hot dogs in town loaded with "Mama's special sauce." He always had a smile for everyone and showed much compassion to the homeless and made positive impacts on many of the youth that crossed his path. Affectionately loved by many, Frank "THE HOT DOG MAN" was given a day of recognition by the Manatee County Board of Commissioners on September 9th, 2014, proclaimed as "Frank Marra Day." Frank will be deeply missed by his loving and devoted wife, Rita Mara and all of his family and friends. He had four sons: Robert Marra, Michael Marra and his loving stepson, Randy Hepp. Rusty Hepp preceded him in death. He will also be missed by his two daughters: Michelle Heinisch and Annemarie Altomonte and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces and life-long friends. A Service will be held in his honor at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Bradenton, FL on March 17th, 2018 at 11:30AM. A small catering event will be held afterwards for the family and friends.

My dearest Dad, There aren't enough words to tell you how much I love and miss you. You were my hero, my Idol, my first love. You taught me so many core values. You helped me ride my first bike and laughed when I tried to skate. I still remember waiting for that garage door to open each night so I could sneak out of bed and eat crazy Italian food with you. I still can't believe you are not here, but yet I know you are. I feel you in the gentle breezes and Oh Dad there is this Egrit that visits me each morning and night. I believe it is you showing me freedom. Today I was with Momma Rita and the light went on in the bedroom. We both freaked out. I just want to let you know I love and miss your smiling face, silly comments and hugs. Guess God knew best when he brought me back to Florida. You held my hand when I was little. Now I will hold your heart forever. I love you with all my heart and soul. Tomorrow is your special day as we all say goodbye to you. I am sure the church will be filled to the brim. Fly high Dad.................I love you. <3

I miss you, my darling daddy. I've so much to say, but no real words to say it with. I'll just leave it at this: I love you, and will see you again, someday.
