George took me to the S. Street Seaport one evening for me to give a talk about oyster farming. I worked for L.I Oyster Farms for 14years. I ran the oyster dredge in his namesake. Much respect.

I was a shepherd in the Sheperding Program your dad founded at the LB Chapel in memory of your mother. He cared for others and his generous support in providing instructors and training materials helped make that program such a success.

My sheep were truly grateful for the program and my life was enriched as well. God's richest blessings on you and your families.

I did not personally know George. I am a fairly new member and sing in the choir at Christ Church and love our church home and family as he did. My father was in the Navy in the Phillipines during WW11 and my son Scott graduated from Renssaeler Polytechnic Institute so I feel a bond with you. I was happy to read about all the wonderful contributions George made to the lives of those around him. What a wonderful man he must have been. May God bless all who feel the pain and sorrow of George's passing and grant you His peace in knowing that George is now in the arms of our loving Lord.

i was always told he was the King of Lobster! which it something we shared out loud our love for. i got to eat some with him once and watch him eat a few in front of me with Cleda. He did tell me the best way to cook a lobster was by putting it in a bag and microwaving it. i will do that and toast the "Lobster King" with every bite! i met him at a retreat--he told me some of his troubles one evening there. what a sweet man! i'll miss him and i am glad i got to meet him. it was always a joy to see him, and he was always such a gentleman and a true Man of God!

I wish to express my sympathy to the family of George. I knew dear George from church and enjoyed his "spunk." He was always cheerful and enjoyed the fellowship of others, even though he was in ill health for several years. I will miss him!
