Bradenton, Florida - Dr. Michael C. Fleck, DVM of Bradenton, Florida, passed away on June 16, 2024. Born in Jackson, Michigan, on November 18, 1944, to Lorraine and Christopher Fleck. His dedication to family, profession, friends, and desire to make a difference in this world will forever be remembered and respected by so many.

After receiving his Bachelor's degree from MSU, Dr. Fleck studied at Western Michigan University to study for his Master's degree in reproductive physiology and then moved back to Michigan State University to earn his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. He started his career in Kalamazoo, Michigan, with two practices and decided in 1985 to migrate to the warm weather of Florida to open a new practice, Animal Medical Center of Bradenton. He proceeded to dedicate a couple years in Guam to aid in the advancement of Veterinary Medicine there and upon return to Florida never slowed down. Studied to earn an esthetician license which lead to the birth of his Company, Epiderma Pet LLC(Epi-Pet). Dr. Fleck developed many skin care products and treatment programs specifically for pets and notably the only FDA approved sunscreen for dogs and horses. His energy and desire to provide pet care did not stop there. The passion and love for pets to receive affordable care led him to opening up two more practices which provided pet owners the opportunity to maintain and keep their furry animals healthy. He also channeled through seminars, radio shows, and You-Tube videos to help educate pet owners.

Dr. Fleck also had a huge passion for our Country and served as County commissioner in Portage, Michigan, and ran for State Senate in 1980.

Although Dr. Fleck was endlessly dedicated to his profession, his love for his Alma Mater, Michigan State University, found time to cheer on his Spartans every opportunity he could. Green and White were his colors and respectfully enjoyed the big wins over the teams that were of rival. He always made time for family and to support his kids and grandkids in their interests and sports. Spent precious time during Holidays and events. His selflessness, infectious personality, charisma, humor and kindness will be missed immensely. Always greeted with a hug and a kiss. One of a kind and with much admiration, respect, gratitude and love from your family, friends, clients and all the lives you've touched.

Dr. Fleck is survived by his three children; Todd, Lisa and Danielle (spouses; Rosemary, David and Carlos), granddaughters, Brittany and Mollie; sister, Peggy (husband, Mike); Julienne (mother of his children) the many beloved nieces and nephews. Acknowledging the sister and brother in-laws that he still considered family.

A Memorial Visitation will be held 12:30 – 1:00 PM, Saturday, June 22, 2024, at Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory 43rd Street Chapel, 604 43rd Street West, Bradenton, FL 34209 with Memorial Service to immediately follow.
