Nicky Wright Obituary
September 21, 1975 - April 17, 2025
Cambridge, Maryland - Nick Wright, age 49, of Cambridge, Maryland passed away on Thursday, April 17, 2025.
Nick was born in Sarasota, Florida to Rosalyn Wright and the late Isiah Eddie Murray on September 21, 1975. Nick was baptized at Roger Memorial UM Church at an early age.
Upon graduation from Bayshore High School in 1994, he served in the Air Force from 1998 to 2011. In the Air Force he achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant and served as a Military Training Instructor. After his discharge, Nick graduated from The Art Institute of Atlanta with a BS in Culinary Arts Management in December 2015. Nick was previously employed at Grand Hyatt Atlanta in Buckhead as a Chef. He transferred to Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Golf Resort, Spa and Marina in Cambridge Maryland where he was recently promoted to the position of Banquet Chef.
Nick leaves to mourn his passing his mother Rosalyn Wright; his brother, Charlie James Chapman Jr.; and three sisters, Leesolee Kolokollie-Dieujuste (Dacheny), Victoria Murray, and Angel Green. He also leaves behind a host of sorrowing aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
There will be a public viewing at Rogers Community UM Church on Friday May 9th from 5-7:30 p.m., Followed by a Celebration of Life at, Happy Gospel Church on May 10th at 1 p.m. Burial will be at Sarasota National Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. on May 12th. Arrangements entrusted to Westside Funeral Home (941)722-4960. Condolences may be left at www.Westsidefh.com.

Nicky, you have been like a son to me and Kenny. A brother to Audrey and LeeAnn. And an uncle to Autumn, Elena, and Cami. I smile when I remember when you were living with us and you and I wanted wings. I said I ll buy if you fly so we went to Twiggys with you in a bathrobe and a Santa Claus hat. I always told you how proud I was of you. You struggled and overcame stereo types and prejudice and always stood tall. Mother's Day is tomorrow and for the first time, I won't get a text or a call from you. I pray for peace and rest for you until I see you again. I love you Nicky, always.
