Tony Francis Blanchette

TORRINTON

Bristol, CT & Van Buren, ME--- F. Tony Blanchette, Sr., 86, peacefully entered into rest May 19, 2025, at Aroostook House of Comfort, Presque Isle, following a long illness. He was born in Torrington, CT, on November 17, 1938, a son of the late William and Louise (Roy) Blanchette, Sr.

Tony last worked for Mohegan Sun Casino in the security department. Previously he was a firefighter for over 20 years with the City of Bristol, CT, while also offering disaster cleanup. Tony also worked several years with the printshop of the Hartford Courant newspaper. He relocated to Van Buren, ME, with his beloved wife Lucille, to be closer to his stepdaughter and grandchild, Cheryl and Nicole. He and his wife enjoyed traveling and never hesitated to jump in the car or RV for a long trip. He's made several trips across the country.

He is survived by seven children, Steven Blanchette of Van Buren, Tony Blanchette Jr. of Bristol, CT, Kenneth Blanchette and his wife Debbie of Terryville, CT, Randy Blanchette of Bristol, CT, Jennifer Moser and her husband Mike of Newcastle, CO, Tricia Sibley and her husband John of Bayfield, CO, and Cheryl Castonguay and her husband Scott of Van Buren; 10 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; three siblings, Roy and Eddie Blanchette, and Jean Wilbur; his first wife, M. Elaine Taillon; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Tony was predeceased by his second wife of 32 years, Lucille (Aparo) Blanchette in 2018, four siblings, Billy Jr., Jimmy, and Robert Blanchette, and Patricia Hamilton.
