Joette Kelly Obituary

Joette L. Kelly, 73, passed away Aug. 10, 2025 in Sarasota, Florida.

Born in Defiance, Ohio, Aug. 29, 1951, to Ned and Aurel Mack, Jo grew up in Ney, Ohio, and graduated from Fairview High School in 1969. She went on to graduate from the International College of Business in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Jo married Patrick Kelly on Nov. 24, 1978, and he survives.

Following a career at the Aro Corporation and JCI International, she retired to Florida living in Lakeland, Spring Hill and Sarasota. She enjoyed playing golf and piano. Jo worked very hard to overcome many physical difficulties following a stroke in 2008.

Surviving are her husband, Patrick J. Kelly of Columbus, Ohio; her daughter, Lisa English (Chip) Cummins of Sarasota, Florida; her sons, Troy English and Tyson (Kristen) Kelly of Columbus, Ohio; three granddaughters, Alison, Tobi and E.V. Cummins; two grandsons, Grayson and Abrum Kelly; as well as four sisters, Ruth Ann (Dick) Schroeder of Crossville, Tennessee, Bobbie (Emilio) Mora of Defiance, Ohio, Sue (Dick) Hoshock of Defiance, Ohio, and Rosie (Dan) Shewmake of Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Jo was preceded in death by her parents and her mother and father in law, LaNue and Paul Kelly.

There will be a private service.
