Darlene Shell Obituary
NEW WASHINGTON: Darlene M. Shell, age 74, of New Washington, Ohio passed away on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Willard Mercy Hospital in Willard. She was born on December 2, 1941 in Reed Twp. Seneca Co., Ohio to the late Henry and Lorena (Faeth) Roth. She is a 1959 graduate of Attica High School and attended OSU. Darlene worked at R.R. Donnelley, Willard Hospital, and owned Appleview Farm for 40 years. She was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church, Altar and Rosary Society, New Washington American Legion Auxiliary, Attica Garden Club, Dutchtown Dillies Red Hats, New Washington Golden Gems (post activity coordinator), and a former instructor at the Shelby YMCA.
She is survived by four children, Jacqueline (Robert) Mead, Brian E. Shell, Mark (Larysa) Shell, MJR. Craig (Sarah) Shell; six grandchildren, Lindsay Slone, Abigail Kohlhorst, Evan Kohlhorst, Kristine Shell, Alexander Shell, Henry Shell; great grandchildren, Avery Slone, Brooklynn Osborn; two brothers, James H. (Joan) Roth of Saline, MI, Kenneth A. (Wilma) Roth of Reedtown; one sister, Paula (Joseph) Gregoire of Goshen, CT.
In addition to her parents, Darlene is preceded in death by her husband, Eugene E. Shell, who passed away in 2013.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in New Washington, Ohio on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. A funeral mass will be on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Bernard's Catholic Church with Father Eric Culler officiating. Burial will take place at St. Bernard's Catholic Cemetery at a later date. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.secorfuneralhomes.com.
