Alvin DARBEE Obituary
Peacefully passed away with his family by his side on March 1, 2022; of Lockport, NY; age 87. Beloved husband of Rosemary (nee Breister) Darbee. Devoted father of Alison (Jon) Darbee-Laurin. Dear brother of Beverly (Clayton) Wagner, Donna (Robert Daley) Beckley, late Bruce (Kathy) Darbee and the late Elaine Sprague. Also survived by nieces and nephews. No prior visitation. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at the Clarence Presbyterian Church, 9675 Main Street, Clarence, NY 14031 at 11:00 AM. Please assemble at church. Al was born in Lackawanna, NY in 1935 and grew up on a dairy farm in South Wales, NY where he attended a one room school house. He later graduated from East Aurora High School before serving in the U.S. Air Force. After leaving the service, Al attended Tri-State University where he pursued a degree in mechanical engineering. He worked his entire career as an engineer for Harrison Radiator (Delphi) until he retired at 67. Al was an avid skier who volunteered for 54 years on the Holimont Ski Patrol as well as several years on the Allegheny Nordic Patrol. He spent many years of his retirement volunteering for Habitat for Humanity in Buffalo. Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials can be made in Al's memory for Habitat for Humanity. We shared several years of friendship with Al and Rosemary Darbee while living in El Paso Texas. Al was working for Delphi Harrison Thermal Systems to help develop the technical capabilities of the new operations in Juarez Mexico. We shared good times and embraced our experiences within the diverse environment provided by West Texas. Carol and I have retired in Southern CA in 2009 and we send our condolences and best wishes to Rosemary and the rest of Al Darbee's family. Gene and Carol Boyer, Lake Elsinore, CA 92532
