Of Washington Street, Randolph, Formerly of Hamburg and East Aurora, passed away Monday (February 9, 2026) at UPMC-Chautauqua Hospital in Jamestown. A lifelong area resident of Western New York, Mr. Minton was born November 24, 1930 in Wales Center, NY the son of the late Charles S. and Marian H. (Guard) Minton. He was a graduate of East Aurora High School class of 1949 where he played football and was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving as a Corporal during the Korean War Era, where he was a guided Missile guidance components repairman. Mr. Minton worked earlier on for Westinghouse and started in 1954 for New York State Electric & Gas as a lineman and retired in 1990. Beloved father of, David Minton of East Randolph, Cheryl A. "Maggie" Ruth and husband Brian of Randolph, brother of Wayne (Wendy) Minton and his caregiver; Kris Kinney. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Marian, his wife, Dianne Mary (Foss) Minton whom he married on October 1, 1955 and who preceded him on January 8, 2019, a daughter; Jill Minton Abla on October 2, 2021, a grandson, Jonathan Abla, August 3, 2016 and a brother, Warren Minton. The family will receive relatives and friends from 12-2 PM, Sunday (February 15, 2026) in the VanRensselaer & Son Funeral Home, 14 Church Street, Randolph, from where services will follow at 2:00 PM, along with Military Honors. The Rev. W. Mike Trenchard will officiate. Burial will follow in the St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery in Randolph.
