Fors Christopher
May 30, 1966 - Feb 23, 2026
Christopher "Chris" Fors, born May 30, 1966, in Buffalo, N.Y., passed away at Buffalo General Hospital, surrounded by the love of his wife and children on Monday, February 23, 2026. Chris was a laid-back, easygoing soul, known for a happy demeanor that could light up a room. A conversation with him was a gift; he possessed the rare ability to make everyone feel comfortable and valued, always genuinely interested in their lives. Whether at a formal gathering or an informal outing with family and friends, Chris's easy presence was a source of warmth and laughter. He took immense pride in his family, which was evident in everything he did. Chris's greatest accomplishments were his four children, whom he supported and encouraged in every endeavor. He shared his life with his beloved wife of more than thirty five years, Lynne, together building a life filled with love, adventure, and shared passions. To his children he was "Papa," and his spirit lives on in each of them; Sally, Mitchell, Colin, and John who carry not only his name but also his values and deep appreciation for life. Chris embraced life, but it was the simple pleasures that meant the most to him. He loved settling in to watch sports or an old movie, especially enjoyed cheering on the Buffalo Bills and Sabres. On game days, he was almost always surrounded by his children and their many friends, who considered Chris one of the "gang." Because of his hospitable nature, the Fors home was the setting for many Euchre tournaments and countless gatherings no special occasion required. He enjoyed a round of golf and loved music, especially live performances. He went to countless concerts, including the family's yearly ritual of attending a few Dave Matthews Band shows. He was also know as the "King of Jeopardy", with an astonishing knowledge of random trivia. At the end of the day, he appreciated nothing more than good company and a cold beer. Chris indulged his family and was always there to lend a hand with gardening and caring for birds in the winter, and he also enjoyed or at least lovingly tolerated the many family pets. Chris is survived by his wife Lynne, children, Sally, Mitchell, Colin and John; he's also survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard "Rick" (Rachel)Fors III and Andrew (Carmen) Fors; as well as his brothers and sisters-in-law, Donna and Stephen McDonnell, Michael and Cathy Foley, John Foley, and Lisa and Jamie Potts. Chris will also be deeply missed by Andrea, and wonderful friend Dr. Thomas "Skull" Guttuso, all of his aunts, uncles, cousins, and an enduring network of nieces and nephews, all of whom were touched by his kind spirit and love. Chris was preceded in death by his parents, Richard D. and Patricia "Pat" Fors, and his grandparents, who surely welcomed him with open arms. As we remember Chris, let us hold close the memories created with him from heartfelt conversations to joyous celebrations knowing these moments will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. His legacy is one of love, laughter, and life's simple pleasures, reminding us to cherish every moment and each other. One day, you will do something for the last time - the last photo, the last hug, the last meal at a favorite restaurant. You won't know it's the last, and it won't feel special in the moment; it will feel like any other ordinary day, until it isn't. To honor Chris's memory, be present. Savor the ordinary moments. Be where your feet are. Look people in the eyes and tell them you love them, because the moments that seem small today are often the ones that become the memories we cherish most, holding us close to the people we love long after they are gone. Chris/Papa, you were loved deeply by so many and will be greatly missed by all who had the honor of knowing and loving you. The family will be present on Saturday, February 28th from 1 PM to 5 PM at the (Amherst Chapel) AMIGONE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 5200 Sheridan Drive (corner Hopkins Road) and then a Celebration of Life on Sunday, March 1st at 12 PM located at the Country Club of Buffalo,(250 Youngs Rd, Buffalo, NY 14221).
