James Arkins Obituary

Arkins, James M.

Mar 30, 1940 - Jan 21, 2025

Of Amherst, passed away suddenly. James served in the US Army and was a proud paratrooper. After his military service, he dedicated many years to educating young minds as a middle school teacher and later completed his career with the US Government. James was known for his culinary skills, particularly his delicious turkey, which became a family favorite. He was the loving husband of Sharon Arkins (nee Haseley) for 30 years. James was a devoted father to Kathleen Diane (James) King and Joan Arkins, and a caring stepfather to Matthew (Danielle) Wendt. He was the son of the late James and Lorraine Arkins and is survived by his siblings, Joseph, Diane and AnnMarie. James was also a proud dog dad to his beloved pets, Herbie and Henry. Services were held privately. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that Memorial Donations be made to St. Mark Lutheran Church, 1135 Oliver Street, North Tonawanda, NY 14120.
