I met Jessica 30+ years ago at a grocery store near my house. I worked evenings and she would bring her Cousins Jo and Lottie Smith to shop. We all became friends and kept in touch. Jessica was a faithful servant of God and I am sure, St. Peter had her wings ready upon her arrival. We last spoke in January 2024 when she was in "Fox Run" Assistant Living, waiting to see where she would be moved to live the remainder of her life. I did not know where she went. I just kept sending cards to Fox Run hoping that they would be sent to her new location. I don't get the newspaper, so I did not see the death notice. I only learned of her passing from a Newsletter I received from SSMN this week. Jessica I was so lucky to have you as a friend. May you rest in peace in God's loving arms. To her Cousins - thank you for taking such good care of her. You have my Deepest Sympathy - If I would have known, I would have been at the wake and the funeral.

Miss Schewe was my 6th grade teacher at St. Mary of Sorrows. Her first year of teaching. Have been corresponding with her for the last 5-6 years. Sent her cards for every holiday and her birthday. Loved talking to her about the good old days at. SMS. Will surely miss our chats. Went to Novenas on Friday nights with her, her Mom, and her Aunt Florence. I believe that was her Aunts name. I remember when they lived on Ivy street. Still to this day I called her Miss Schewe. I am only 7 years younger than her and my birthday is in August. I am going to miss my friend so much.Havent been in contact since Dec. 2023. Couldn't get a hold of her, but still sent her cards at her house
I hope she received her last birthday card. Rest In peace Miss Schewe. You are now reunited with your parents. I hope they know they raised a caring, beautiful daughter.

Jessie and I have been friends since 1961 where we were assigned the same homeroom at Bishop O' Hern high school during our freshman year.We shared many wonderful times together with so many laughs.I was always hungry so Jessie shared half of her lunch with me. Mrs Schewe made such delicious sandwiches! We became such close friends over that sandwich sharing. We had many wonderful visits when I lived in Buffalo, followed by lengthy phone conversations when I left Buffalo in 2022.Invariably, we talked about our Lord, Jesus. We shared our struggles with each other, and supported each other in our faith. We talked about life, we talked about death. How good God was to grace us with so rich a friendship. We will meet again, my dear Jess where we will be friend for all eternity! Your dear friend, Lynn

I taught with Jess for 25 years, most of those as her partner teacher. She was the kindest, most compassionate woman I ever met. She thought of herself last in every situation. She was one of a kind. May you rest in peaces, Jess.
