Passed away peacefully following a short illness. Cherished papa of Isabella and Austin Hubert, beloved son of Geraldine and the late Cornelius Hubert, dear brother of Jocelyn (Eugene) Rola, Jeffrey Hubert and Jane (Timothy) Frappa; also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A memorial service was held on May 13 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in North Boston, New York. Jonathan was a dedicated member of his church, where he sang in the choir, as well as solos and duets with his daughter Isabella.

Jonathans life-long passion for volleyball began under Coach Joseph Gillespie at Eden High School. His dedication to the sport led him to win Gold Medals at Empire State Games, secure champions in Third Ward Club volleyball leagues and tournaments, excel in multiple Olean Times Herald Tournaments and triumph in various Wellsville and Titusville tournments. He was a USVBA BB Champion, a certified USVBA Referee, coached Canisius College Men's team and was an assistant to several high school teams and clubs, including his daughter's team. Jonathan also competed in Memphis National Championships, played in the Maryvale and Frontier Leagues and enjoyed 6s and doubles on the sand at Charlotte Beach in Rochester. Through volleyball, where they called him "Hubie", Jonathan formed many enduring friendships.

Beyond volleyball, Jonathan coached for the Town of Boston's soccer league. He loved fly fishing, hunting with both bow and shot gun alongside his son Austin, riding his motorcycle, country line dancing and spending time with his children and family. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jonathan's memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
