LIEBERMAN - Robert Perry, MD, PhD
July 6, 1947 - January 22, 2019; age 71, surrounded by his family. He was born to Erma and Dr. Samuel Lieberman in Buffalo, NY. His scholarly achievements started early in life as he was awarded the Jesse Ketchum Medal for City of Buffalo. He attended Nichols School in Buffalo, graduated from the University of Chicago, and the MD /PhD programs at New York University. He interned at Bellevue in New York. He practiced radiology at the University of Wisconsin and the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha as an interventional radiologist. Bob led a robust medical career spanning patient care, medical research and teaching. Some of his professional accomplishments included authoring many scholarly articles including invited editorials to the New England Journal of Medicine. After leaving medicine due to Parkinson's Disease, Bob developed an interest in computer science and earned many certifications in that field. He excelled at technical support for a major company. Diverse pleasures brought joy and color to Bob's life; for example, science fiction, cats, restaurant fare with family and friends, bird watching, the turn of a good pun, a capella singing and his many adventures with Ann. He was preceded in death by his parents Erma and Dr. Samuel Lieberman; and his nephew Michael Solomon. He is survived by the love of his life Irene Ann Sysel of Bellevue, NE and her family; Stewart and Sharon Sysel of Bellevue, NE, Karel and Nancy Sysel of Lincoln, NE; sister Susan Solomon of Sacramento, CA; cousins Dale Lieberman (Jane Porcelan) of Philadelphia, PA and their children Sarah Lieberman (Jonathan Roffman), David Lieberman and Daniel Lieberman; close friends Jim and Maria Rotberg of Howell, NJ, Karim al Saeidi, of Albuquerque, NM and Eileen Rizzo, of Jackson, NJ.
