Dear Claire, Forest, Nadia, Joshua and Sterling,
I was shocked and saddened to read of Bob's death. I am so sorry not to have known sooner. He was such a good friend to me and such a good person to learn from. I loved chatting with him by the roadside. He always had time to talk. I learned so much about taking care of a house from him, and many parts of my house owe their beauty to his demand for quality and his knowledge of how to do things right. I grieve for all of you as you gathered in WNY to be together going forward. I know how much Bob was looking forward to having Forest and Nadia and the baby living nearby. Claire, widowhood is hard, but you will have support from your family and from the neighbors who knew and loved both of you. I am sending my prayers, and my love --
