Sympathy and thoughts are sent to Sam's family and friends. He was a very gentle person, but yet firm when he had to be and we appreciate having known him. God be with you during this time.

I was never fortunate enough to be in Dr. Block's class at Hutch-Tech 1955-1959 but always respected him as a gentleman & scholar. He always had a smile for everyone. Years later, circa 1985, I saw him in the parking lot at my neighborhood Tops Market. When I addressed him by name and said , "Hello", he immediately engaged me in conversation and wanted to know my name and era at Tech. He was the most pleasant man. As a then public school teacher, I learned a valuable lesson about being a classy gentleman. R.I.P. Dr. Block
