Jerry Evans Obituary

Jerry John Evans
April 19, 1948-Sept. 30, 2022
Jerry John Evans, 74, went to be with our Lord on September 30, 2022 at his home near Tunas, MO, after a short illness. He was born on April 19, 1948 in Buffalo, MO to the late James Roscoe and Mary Jane (Behl) Evans.
Jerry was saved and baptized at an early age in the Cherry Grove Church and was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
He graduated from Tunas High School in 1967.
Jerry worked at Hallmark Cards in Kansas City, MO for 22 1/2 years. While there, he met and later married the love of his life, Connie Evans on December 14, 1985. They later moved back to his hometown of Buffalo, MO, where he retired from Detroit Tool Metal Products in Lebanon, MO. His retirement began his hunting, fishing, and auctioning adventures with his best friend of over 70 years, Clint Durrington.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Paul and Eddie Evans; one sister, Linda Lannas; and one sister-in-law, Sharron Evans.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Connie Kathleen (Bowles) Evans; three sons, Matthew Evans of Independence, MO; Ryan & wife Christina Evans of Harrisonville, MO, and Daniel & wife Laurie Sisney of Independence, MO; seven very loud grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother, Donald & wife Judy Evans of Buffalo, MO; and two sisters, Dorothy & husband Lloyd Deckard of Buffalo, MO and Donna & husband Donald Stidham of Nevada, MO. He also leaves many cousins, nieces, nephews, other family members, and many friends whom he loved dearly. What Jerry enjoyed the most was the time spent with his loving wife and the family and friends he loved so much.
The family would like to offer loving recognition to Cody Evans and Missy Evans. Escorts will be Clint Ray Durrington, Brad Evans, Cody Evans, Kyle Griffin, and Chad Payne.
Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 8, 2022 in the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home with Pastor Richard Prater and Bro. Terry Harris officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
