Keith Dale Pyles

Jan. 27,1958 - July 21, 2023

Keith Dale Pyles was born January 27th, 1958, in St. Louis, Missouri to Loren and Dorothy Pyles. He passed away at Mercy hospital, Springfield, MO on Friday, July 21, 2023.
Keith was called to preach at a young age and preached his first sermon at the age of
twelve. He began evangelizing full time after graduating Cleveland High School in St. Louis in
1976.
He married the love of his life, Sharon Schafer, on May 11th, 1979, and to this union, seven children were born.
Keith evangelized for thirteen years and was Principal at Alpha Christian Academy in Alton, IL,
for two years. He served as assistant pastor for three and a half years at Buffalo First Assembly,
where in 1995, he was voted in as senior pastor, a ministry he held for 28 years, while his
passion continued to grow for world missions. Keith felt called to evangelize the world,
traveling to other continents especially Africa.
He loved his family and traveling the US with them. He enjoyed Silver Dollar City as well as
family board games including Scrabble and trivia games. Most summers you could find him
religiously following the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team, and he loved attending games when
possible. Throughout his life he enjoyed racquetball, tennis, fishing, and especially golf. He had
a beautiful voice and was known for his powerful music ministry as well as the silly songs he
sang to his family.
He was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his wife Sherry, his seven children:
Rachel (& Michael) Worley of Flagstaff, AZ, Amanda (& Kyle) Adams of Whitman, MA, Colleen
(& Daniel) Mason of Greensboro, NC, Caleb Pyles of Dalian, China, Lauren (& Chris) Nathan of

grandchildren, Averic Adams, Micah, Hannah, & Abigail Worley & Eliana Mason, his mother,
Dorothy Pyles, two sisters, Shelly (& Rick) Daugherty, Bridget (& Randy) Musgrave and aunts & uncles and friends who will all dearly miss him.
