JANET KEHOE Obituary

JANET LYNN (DESAUTELS) KEHOE SHOREHAM, LONG ISLAND, N.Y. - Janet L. Kehoe, 48, passed away in Good Samaritan Hospice in Port Jefferson, N.Y. on July 24, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Rapid City, S.D. to Conrad and Lois Desautels, Jr., she was a cherished daughter, sister, wife, mother and friend to many. She graduated from Rice High School in South Burlington in 1979. Janet met and married Jimmy Kehoe from Long Island, N.Y. They made their home in Shoreham, Long Island, N.Y. She felt her greatest blessing in life were her two sons, James (12) and Chad (10). She enjoyed every aspect of her nursing assistant position at Saint Charles Hospital. Her greatest joy was helping new mothers and their newborn children. During the last year, Janet's family has been able to be with her several times to visit and offer support during her long and difficult illness. Janet considered all of her friends at Saint Charles as part of her extended family. They supported her and her family in every way during this last year. All of them were an integral part of her being able to maintain her dignity and courage during her illness. Janet is survived by her husband, Jimmy; her two sons, James and Chad; Lois, her mother, and stepfather, Edward McGuire; her sisters, Terry Williams and her husband, Douglas, and their family and Lori Poulin and her husband, Remi, and their family; her brothers, Mark Desautels and his family and Thomas Desautels and his wife, Cathy, and their family. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday, July 28 at 11 a.m. at their parish church, Saint Marks, in Shoreham, N.Y. Interment took place in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Port Jefferson, N.Y.

Janet was a wonderful and sweet girl, I have great memories of her from grade school days, she was a very good friend then, and it sounds like she continued to make the world a more positive place since. My sympathy to her family and I hope you find the peace to help through the rough times.
