Clarence Wallace Obituary

Clarence R. "Shoes" Wallace, 74, of Slippery Rock passed away peacefully on Monday night at home after a two-year battle with cancer.
Clarence was born on Dec. 11, 1944, in Butler. He was the son of the late James Patrick Wallace and the late Josephine Sylvia Anderson Wallace.
Clarence retired from Mercer Lime and Stone after 42 years of service.
He had a strong work ethic and accrued seven additional years of service through overtime. He was a former president of United Steelworkers Union 14841 for 25 years.
Clarence was a member of the Branchton United Methodist Church.
Clarence is survived by his wife, Bonnie Applebee Wallace, whom he married, on Feb. 14, 1964, and celebrated 55 years of marriage.
He is also survived by three daughters, Donna (David) McFadden of Chester Springs, Pa., Doreen (Paul) Angerett of Butler, and Darla (Mark) Gresgott of Slippery Rock; one son, Clarence "Chip" (Linda) Wallace Jr. of Mercer; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters, Esther (Ike) Williams and Judy (John Henry) Williams, both of Butler; four brothers, James (Kathy) Wallace, Gary "Ding" Wallace and Douglas (Jennifer) Wallace, all of Butler, and George (Jackie) Wallace of Harrisville; and many nieces and nephews also survive.
Clarence was preceded in death by five brothers, Richard, John, Daniel, Lawrence and Ron; and one sister, Gertrude.
Clarence will be fondly remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather. He adored his family and enjoyed walking and hiking with his beloved dog, Levi.
He will always be remembered as a selfless neighbor with a fun-loving personality, the life of the party and our "Happy Pappy!"
The family would like to thank AHN Butler Medical Oncology staff for their excellent care and kindness.
WALLACE - The family of Clarence R. "Shoes" Wallace, who died Monday, July 1, 2019, will receive friends from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at William F. Young Funeral Home, 132 Main St., West Sunbury.
Funeral services will be held immediately after the viewing at the funeral home with the Rev. Dan Miller.
Burial will be in the Mount Varnum Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in honor of Clarence.
