Herman Rounce Obituary
Born Jan. 24, 1943, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Richard Henry and Florence Esther (Thieleman) Rounce.
Herman was a truck driver for many years and worked for Lakeshore Enterprises in Michigan.
He loved his dogs and will be remembered as being a devoted husband and father.
His memory will be cherished by his son, Ben Rounce, and his wife, Jodi, of Elk River, Minn.; two daughters, Tracy Ewaldt and her husband, Thomas, of Marinette, Wis., and Penny Walker and her husband, Dan, of Foster City, Mich.; a stepson, Donald Furey of Fenelton; a granddaughter, Marissa Laporte; and a brother, Robert Rounce and his wife, Debbie, of Darlington, Pa.
Herman was preceded in death by his parents; his loving of wife of 30 years, Patricia L. Furey Rounce, whom he married June 24, 1988, and who died October 13, 2018; and a sister, Joan Vanatta.
ROUNCE - A committal service for Herman R. Rounce, who died Friday, Nov. 30, 2018, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, at Butler County Memorial Park, 380 Evans City Road, Butler, with the Rev. Edward A. Walters officiating.
Arrangements are being handled by Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

Herman was a beautiful person and very modest . I'm betting he told few how he personally helped me when I was age 17 . Herman was four years older than I and he was also a friend to a girl who I was simply crazy about. She rejected me for another and I was paraylized with grief. I was also having a very long and sensitive puberty and became inconsolable and depressed . Herman said I needed to concentrate on other things and at that time he was hauling brick out of Sugarcreek Ohio and he needed a helper to 'tong' brick . I worked with him for weeks and we talked out my problem of losing the girl I was painfully in love with .... He helped me out of what could have ended up a very bad ending for me , as a young Italian I was contemplating a hasty departure from this world .... Herman stopped that idea cold ... A few years later after I was married he learned of my desire to ride a motorcycle as he did .... He showed up at our apartment with a very nice BMW in superb condition and gave it to me ... literally gave it to me ... We were young newlyweds and money for such frivolity was out of the question ... I rode it for a few years and now at 73, I have owned 13 motorcycles and have never been without one since that day of such a wonderful surprise .... I only found this obituary a few days ago by sheer happenstance .... What a lovely friend ... what an extraordinary man was Herman Rounce .... God bless you friend ... I'll see you soon !
