Karen Cranmer Obituary

Karen E. Cranmer, 66, of Butler, passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2025, in the comfort of her home surrounded by family.
She was born Aug. 23, 1958, in Butler, to the late Chester and Janet (Barnhart) Aspelin.
Karen graduated from Butler High School in 1976. She then worked for Butler Memorial Hospital as a unit secretary, then for the Butler VA as a file clerk, until retiring in 2022. She was also a lifelong member of First English Lutheran Church.
Karen enjoyed embroidery, bike riding, camping, scrapbooking and doting over her adorable grandchildren, as well as spending time with her loving family.
She is survived by her loving husband of 27 years, Bill Cranmer, whom she married June 6, 1997; her two sons, Nathan (Kaitlynn) Aspelin and Joshua (Alexander White) Cranmer; her two grandchildren, Cohen Aspelin and Liliana Aspelin; her sister, Carol Achezinski; her niece, Megan West; as well as by her nephews, Christopher Andrews, David Andrews and Jeffrey Achezinski
In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Andrews.
CRANMER - Family and friends of Karen E. Cranmer, who died Wednesday, March 26, 2025, will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 2, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Kimberly Van Driel, of First English Lutheran Church, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Breakthrough T1D (formerly the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation), P.O. Box 5042, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5042.
