Martha Andrew Perry
Martha Andrew Perry (née Shira), 85, of Brandon, Fla., a native of Butler, passed away Wednesday.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Victor J. Andrew; her parents, George and Grace Shira; a brother, William D. Shira; and sisters Barbara A. Fagan and Nina J. Kinzer.
She is survived by her loving husband, Joseph U. Perry; a daughter, Jill Andrew of Brandon, Fla.; a son, William N. "Bill" Andrew of Lakeland, Fla.; a sister, Esther R. Hobaugh (Paul); stepsons, John Perry and Christian Perry (Kathy); a granddaughter, Jenna Perry; and a plethora of nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
As a full-time nurse, Martha touched many hearts with her gentle bedside manner, her counted cross-stitch, handmade gifts, the game of bridge, sewing, and love of pools and beaches. Her laughter was contagious.
PERRY - Martha Shira Andrew Perry, who died Wednesday, May 26, 2010, will be remembered with a celebration of life at 5:30 p.m. June 6 at the Presbyterian Church of Bloomingdale, Brandon, Fla. At her request, dress is Florida beach casual.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to her church, the Presbyterian Church of Bloomingdale Children's Ministry, 710 E. Bloomingdale Ave., Brandon, FL 33511; Bill's church, Mulberry United Methodist Church Music Department, 306 N. Church St., Mulberry, FL 33860; Martha and Joe's home, Superior Residences of Brandon Beautification Fund, 1819 Providence Ridge Blvd., Brandon, FL 33511; or by donating blood in Martha's honor.
Serenity Meadows Memorial Park, Funeral Home & Crematory, Riverview, Fla., is handling arrangements.
