William Adler Obituary

William L. Adler
William L. Adler, 47, of Penn Township died unexpectedly Saturday.
Born Aug. 28, 1957, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of Carl F. Adler of Gibsonia and the late Patricia A. Kiefer Adler.
He was a member of the North Suburban Builders Association.
Mr. Adler cared for others and helped many who were in need. He visited Sunnyview Nursing Home and took many people into his home. He loved God and his family and genuinely wanted everyone to be happy. To many, he was seen as a joker and a prankster.
He loved fishing, rabbit hunting and tree climbing and genuinely loved the outdoors. His true passion was racing stock cars; and he raced car No. 7A at the Pittsburgh Motor Speedway.
He was a mentor to many, but especially to underprivileged children. He loved and thought of his nieces and nephews as if they were his own children. He was a terrific brother and friend, but his dad was his best friend. He will be dearly missed by all. God bless you son, brother and dad.
His wife of 15 years, Linda A. Curry Adler, preceded him in death.
He was the loving father of Gretchen, Brooke, Hannah, Morgan and Jacqueline Adler, all of Penn Township; and brother and friend of Carl F. Adler of Gibsonia, Joyce A. Ziegler and Shirley A. Smelko, both of Allison Park, Daniel H. Adler of Penn Township and Patty A. Geyer of Valencia.
ADLER - Friends of William L. Adler, who died Saturday, June 4, 2005, will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at SCHELLHAAS FUNERAL HOME, 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church, 221 W. New Castle St., with the Rev. David Maitland, officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to Slippery Rock Baptist Camp, 130 Elliott Lane, Slippery Rock, PA 16057.
Please pay tribute at www.schellhaasfh.com.

" ...And can it be ? ... " I can still see Bill singing his heart out at Mt. Zion. He loved that song and now it's a close description of how I feel about he and Linda's passing. As much as they both dearly loved their daughters, families and friends, they're both really HOME now. Girls, live for the LORD like your mom and dad did and make them both smile as they watch over you!

Gretchen, Brooke, Hannah, Morgan and Jay Jay,

Don't grieve for me, for now I am free,

I am following the path God laid for me.

I took His hand when I heard Him call,

I turned away and left it all.

I could not stay another day,

To laugh, to love, to work or play.

Tasks left undone must stay that way,

I found that place at the close of the day.

If my parting has left a void,

Then fill it with remembered joy.

A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss;

Ah yes, these things, I too will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow,

I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.

My life's been full, I savored much,

Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief;

Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.

Lift up your heart and share with me

God wanted me now,

He set me free.

Love your friend Bill.

We were shocked and sadden to here of your dads passing. Although we only got to know you and him this past couple of years through racing, one is able to tell a great man when you meet them. Your dad was one of the greatest. He will be greatly missed. God Bless 7A.

Dear Smelko and Ziegler Families,

You have my deepest sympathy on the passing of your brother.

The Mansion of Heaven

This world, however beautiful, was never meant to be

The place that we would call our home for all eternity.

And though we would not choose to leave, a loving

God knows best, and in His time,

He lifts us to a place of peace and rest,

For He has built a mansion where

His children will abide, free from pain and sorrow,

Forever at His side.

He said He’d never leave us to face our trials alone,

And though sometimes we fail Him, He never fails His own.

And even when our choices are less than He would ask,

He knows when human courage is unequal to the task.

We cannot judge what happens,

Though tears and questions start –

We only see what’s visible – God sees into the heart…..

And though there may be many things that we cannot explain,

We can be sure it breaks His heart to see His children’s pain.

In loving arms, He bears us to a quiet place apart

Where He mends the wounded spirit

And heals the broken heart.

And though this one we loved so much

Has left our present sight, and passed into a

Better world of majesty and light,

Someday we’ll be together in our Father’s home above,

Where we’ll thank Him for His mercy

And praise Him for His love.

Sincerely,

The Lukon Family

I already left an entry on another site but I wanted to leave one here, too.

Bill will be greatly missed. Even thought I haven't seen him in a few years, I mourn his loss. What makes me smile is knowing that right now he's exactly where he wanted to be...with his Maker.

May God bless his family and friends with warm memories of him.

Girls,

I love you all so much! This is all too much. My best friend...as wacky as he was. There is nothing I can even say except that we WILL get through this too, somehow. The "king" is now with THE King. My heart is truly breaking for all of you. Somehow going to the Dairy Queen will never be the same. I am here.

With my deepest sympathy to Bill's family: I only knew Bill for about a year. When we'd talk of his girls and his wife he would literally light up. I've never seen anyone show that much love for his family as Bill did. God bless you.

The Billy I remember from school was a gentle soul with a comic gift. If he grew up to be the man I've been reading about, the loss his daughters must feel is immeasurable. The only saving grace is that Linda was there to show him the way. I am so sorry the girls have now lost both their parents but they will always be with them, watching, guiding and loving. My deepest sympathies

I only got to see Bill a couple of times at Mt. Zion Baptist Church and it is very true, he was a wonderful God fearing Christian man and I certainly enjoyed the little bit of time I got to visit with him.

If anybody I have ever met would be guaranteed their place in the Heavenly home, Bill would certainly be ranked as one.

I pray that our Heavenly Father be with his father and the rest of the family at this time of grieving.

God Bless

It is with the deepest sadness that we come to post this message. To you all, the family, the friends, the acquaintances of this wonderful loving giving man we send our very deepest sympathies. There are no words of comfort that can reach us all except that God has a plan, a time, a way for us all. And even when we don't understand what it is, somewhere, sometime, it will become apparent. So let us all trust in the Lord and find comfort in Him especially now. God help and bless all who love Bill and may the perpetual light shine upon him.

I grew up with all of you and my heart goes out to your Family. Billy always had that smile on his face and that laugh. What a laugh. This is indeed a tragic story for him and his family especially after the death of his wife last year. My family sends our love and our prayers and may god bless his five girls that he left behind.
