Gary Kosen Obituary
He was born March 19, 1941 in La Crosse, WI, to the late Elmer and Doris Kosen. He married Jane "Pee-Wee" M. Schurz on November 14, 1964 in La Crosse and together they spent thirty-seven years until her passing on June 11, 2002. Gary drove Caterpillars as a heavy equipment operator for International Union of Operating Engineers Local #49ers until his retirement. He enjoyed running his farm with his wife, fishing, hunting, trapping with his father, and collecting firearms. His many furry companions over the years always held a special place in his heart.
He is survived by his daughters, Debbie Kosen and Tammy (Steve) Mueller; grandchildren, Joshua Rackow, Adrianna (Joshua) Hongerholt and their children Henry and Della, Carl (Kiarra) Rackow and their children Skarlyte, Octavious, and a baby girl on the way, Janieann Rackow, Mariah Mueller, and Shane Mueller; sister, Janice (Richard) Johansen; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon, Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at Schumacher-Kish Funeral & Cremation, 907 Sand Lake Road, Onalaska, WI. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. - 12:00 Noon at the funeral home.

So sorry to have just heard about you dad Debbie & Tammy.
We put up quite a bit of hay years ago and I’ll always remember working summers occasionally. Had a bit of fun also riding that little motorcycle, a game of pool, or a cold root beer between loads of hay. Both your folks were good to me an I enjoyed recalling those memories. God bless you girls.

I am so sorry to learn of Gary's death. I have enjoyed playing Euchre with Gary for many years. He always made me laugh with all the stories he told. Having been a city girl, I sometimes didn't know if he was joking with me or not. RIP my friend.
