Jim Webb Obituary

Jim Webb 'Crawdaddy'Corpus Christi, TXJimmie Robert Webb, or as we all know him, 'CRAWDADDY', was born March 30, 1934 in Colorado City, Texas to John Lovel and Mary Sue Webb. He served in the US Navy during the Korean conflict and by the age of 29 he served as a police officer in Hobbs, New Mexico. He showed exemplary marksmanship and was named the Hip Shooting Champion of New Mexico in 1961. In 1956 he married his soul mate of 59 years, Margaret Sue Hurst. They had four children, Carolyn Hunter, John Lovel, J Pat and Michael J Webb, which gave him 11 Grandchildren and five Great Grandchildren. Jim and Sue opened Crawdaddy's on February 6, 1993 and his love of karaoke was born. He would laugh and say 'Willie sounds just like me'. Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain never sounded so good! Crawdaddy was an extraordinary man and touched many lives with his fun personality and witty sayings.Jim, we wouldn't trade you for a load of ripe watermelons.A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 4, 2015 at First Baptist Corpus Christi in the small chapel, 3115 Ocean Dr. Corpus Christi, Texas.
