Eric Blatz Obituary
Age 69 of Perry Twp, passed away on November 06, 2016. He was born in Massillon on May 09, 1947 to the late Harry and Esther Blatz.
Eric was a Spanish teacher at Washington High School retiring in 2000. He had received his Bachelor of Education at Kent State University and his Master of Arts in Spanish from the Universidad Internacional in Saltillo, Mexico. Eric was a member of the Massillon Tiger Sharks and Kent State Swim teams, Kent State Alumni Association and the Stark County Retired Teachers Association. He had a love for teaching Spanish, dancing, scuba diving, martial arts and was an avid traveler.
He is survived by sons, Lee (Angela) Blatz and Daniel (Kerrie) Blatz Como; his grandchildren, Addison and Andrew Blatz; his aunt, Martha N. Jerman; cousins, Diane and Donna; his lifelong friend, Hazel Edgar and a host of relatives and friends.
A Celebration of his life will be held on Monday, November 14, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home & Crematory in Massillon. Pastor Steven Gower will be officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, November 13, 2016 and 1 hour prior to the service. Eric and i had been neighbors for the last 14 yrs. and he was one heck of a character. We had plenty of conversations about sports and politics and he could get fired up about both. I had the privilege of knowing Eric and to be his neighbor. And those of you that knew him well know that he is dancing today.
