Eugene ‘Gene'
Zimbello
87, of Massillon, passed away Thursday, March 6, 2014. Gene was born on July 2, 1926 in Alliance, Ohio the son of the late John and Katrina (Donelli) Zimbello. Gene was a United States Army veteran. He worked as a crane operator at Canton Drop Forge where he retired from. He loved playing his accordion with his brother, Joseph Zimbello who played guitar. He and his wife, Mildred loved traveling all throughout the U.S. He enjoyed woodworking, drawing, and playing cards. Gene also loved the outdoors and his numerous pets. Along with his parents, he was preceded by his brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred (Jacobs) Zimbello, whom he married on Sept. 19, 1953 and his daughters, Elizabeth Zimbello and Carol (Gary Shankle) Zimbello.
A Celebration of Eugene's life will be held on Monday, March 10, 2014 at 7 p.m. at Paquelet Funeral Home. Fr. Raymond Paul will be Officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 5-7 p.m. before the service. Inurnment will be at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. My deepest sympathy to Gene's family. They were by his side endlessly making sure he was well cared for. He was one of the most wonderful people I know and one of my favorite relatives. He always had a smile for his friends. I know he will be watching over all of us.
