Jeffrey Kurtak Obituary

Jeffrey William Kurtak 1959-2016
age 57, of Canton, passed away Dec. 13, 2016. He was born Sept. 16, 1959, in Canton. He served our country in the United States Air Force and was a proud steel worker at Timken Steel and proud member of USW local #1123 for 19 years. He was a uniquely intelligent man who loved sharing knowledge with those around him, and always went out of his way to lend advice and to help those in need, but most importanly put his family first. Jeff was a generous and loving man who wore his heart on his sleeve.
He took great pride in serving his community as a coach of bowling and baseball for 25 plus years and mentored to children of all ages. He was Big Jeff to some, Senior to most and most importantly Poppa to Jianna, Dominic and Matthew.
He was preceeded in death by his mother, Shirley Fogel; father, Norman Kurtak. He is survived by his wife, Kelli Berg Kurtak; sons, Jeffery Kurtak II, Stanley Berg; grandchildren, Jianna and Dominic Kurtak, Matthew Berg; brother, Donald Kurtak; sisters, Kim Kurtak Nodo (Kevin Nodo), Karen Fogel Bezon (Dave Bezon), Kelly Fogel, Patti Jones Hoelzle; nieces and nephews, Grady, Amanda, Justin, Jessie, Richard, Christopher; also, great nieces and nephews.
He touched alot of lives and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Reed Funeral Home Canton Chapel. Burial with full military honors will be in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio. Calling hours will be held Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers please donate to a veterans association, World Wildlife Federation or Toys for Tots in his name.

Hi, im his grandchild. I hope he rest in peace and thank you to everyone. I was deciding on when to write this because i was only little when he died. Again thank you.

Jeff ,will be deeply missed by so many people .You were an inspiration to me you help me through some bad times and even the good times, I remember the rides were used to take to Ravenna used to make me laugh so much ,we may have not talked all the time but you were always on my mind ....And a very good friend I will miss you till i see you on the other side friend.
