Cheryl Simmons Obituary

(1943 - 2023) Cheri Simmons, 79, of Annapolis, MD, passed away peacefully at home with her children at her side on September 7, 2023. Born on October 22, 1943, to Doris and Stan DeWind. She was the oldest girl of their (5) children Gary, Pam, Connie and Gordon. Preceded in death by her husband, Les Simmons and by her beloved younger sister Pam DeWind. She is survived by her (2) children Scott and Shannan and her (6) grandchildren, Michaela, Steven, Ravyn, Kevin, Ryan and Sydnie. Cheri was best known for lighting up a room with her contagious smile, adorable dimples and beautiful bright blue eyes. Also, for knowing everyone's order as they walked in the door at The New Transit Truck Stop in Millersville MD, which she and Les owned/operated for 25 years. Cheri was loved by many and will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her. A celebration of life event is being planned for family and friends.
